About

I am a Brighton-based freelance copy/content writer and social media specialist.

I’ve always loved writing and began copywriting in 2008 when I started working for an online jewellery retailer. I quickly learned – and developed an interest in – SEO and the techniques of writing for the web.

I started the social media campaign for that company in 2010, along with a weekly blog. To get me started, I took a course in Social Media Marketing – and, two years later, ended up working in digital marketing for the training provider! Throughout 2012, I wrote several articles a day on a wide-range of topics from SEO to project management to web design; as well as a weekly column for a high-profile online magazine.

I am now accepting freelance projects in copy writing or social media consultancy/training. I can create high-quality, compelling content on any subject I am tasked to write about, and can adapt my writing style to suit any audience. I am personable, professional and able to self-edit to a high standard.

If you’re looking for articles for content marketing, you’re in the right place – these are the bread-and-butter of the freelance work I take on. If you need SEO-friendly website content, email newsletters or lifestyle-based blog posts then I can do that too.

Some of my recent projects…

Article writing: I write a number of articles a month for a leading digital marketing agency on topics such as (but not limited to) finance, travel, health, lifestyle, gifts and careers.

Over the Moon Festival: Two weeks of social media marketing in the lead-up to the 2012 festival to raise the company’s online profile and sell more tickets. This involved consultancy, implementing the new strategy, and full post-event training/debrief so the social media could be handled in-house for 2013.

Silicon Beach Training: A temporary full-time contract in digital marketing, namely the creation of quality web content and managing a number of social media accounts. I also identified and engaged with industry influencers for guest blogging/link building purposes.

G Stages are a company who provide quality stage design and hire as well as event production. I am responsible for implementing their social media marketing campaign across relevant networks.

HelloGiggles is a lovely sparkly magazine-style website, reporting on current events, trends and general goings-on. BritGiggles, my weekly column, is a report of what’s happening over here in the UK (link goes to my author page).

I am a writer for DIGITAL bungalow - an editorial agency which also has a series of in-house websites.

Wedding Rings Direct blog: I used to write a weekly blog as part of my day job for Wedding Rings Direct – not just about wedding rings, but all things jewellery, weddings and relationships! I also wrote the copy for all customer communications and static information pages.

My rather neglected Bridge Blog was started as there’s not much Bridge-based chat going on on the www, and I was hoping to connect with other ‘youngsters’ in the game!
